I’m the girlfriend to an independent Hip-Hop artist, the title IS as glamorous as it sounds. But that glamorous introduction comes with work. Lot’s of it!
Encouragement is huge in any relationship, and a willingness to be apart of the journey makes it all worth while. Last nights adventure really open my eyes to just that. Finding gratitude in watching a vision come into fruition.
With the sun setting in the desert valley, we embarked on the dry lake bed to film the music video for Full Circle. With the sun blaring down creating mirages miles away, I’m admiring my partner as he preps for the shoot to begin. I feel proud, I’m looking at him with so much veneration because I know how the process began.
“I truly believe God put us together for a bigger purpose than we may ever find out”, is my thought as the drone passes above my head to get an aerial view. Highdro is walking hundreds of feet away, resembling all of us on the search to understand what this life is all about.
Speaker under my left arm, two cell phones in my hand. I’m catching b-roll while controlling the music, “girlfriend duty.” Selfishly, I confess, I love catching the BTS 📸.
As the sun creeps behind the mountains and the stars flicker luminously, the real work is set to begin. Creating a FIRE CIRCLE!!!! Surprisingly easier than I thought. With rope soaking in kerosene, I’m sitting at the back of our car taking a sip. Then next thing I know, I am up laying down the kerosene drenched rope into a perfect circle (all those years watching Bob Ross 🎨).
LIGHTS, CAMERA, ACTION… IGNITE 🔥
My brain has yet to comprehend that the masses will soon get to see this masterpiece.
